Names for the Red Death

As promised…

Ideas about the Red Death Project are being thrown at a regular and high speed. Some inside, some outside the bin. Prospero has now a full character on his own and Red Death herself is incredibly charming. As much as characters go, we couldn’t expect anything different than their slow coming out and revealing. Get this project done is pretty much like it is getting shown to you here. It doesn’t matter how much we put our efforts in revealing it, it has its own pace of revelation.

For the crew, we’re already close to present a designer and a cenographer. Those two are very important at this stage of the project since most of our wildest ideas depend on their approval and comments. Their response to our expectations couldn’t have been better. I’m glad to say that it was the same way with us, since we’ve had way more agreements than disagreements. Also, we’ll be confirming our own Prospero in the next few days, hopefully.

As long as music is concerned, 20th century is a great influence until now. There are some early century-ish excerpts, but there are some electroacoustic and (curiously) some minimalism there too.

Cheers!

So, as you’ve noticed, why do we have a blog but not as our main site? Well, as Holokinesis itself, our site grows organically. In addition to our blog, more sections will come. Of course, the main ones with About, Crew, Contact and all those fancy stuff, but we’ll also aim at keeping an online community about total art. What we want is to interact with people who study and work with the same things as we do. Or at least, similar to what we do.Gesamtkunst is not at all something that sprouts on every street corner, we all know that. But it’s still so hard to find established study programs on it or schools with courses about it.  Not that it doesn’t have its benefits, but it does make it harder to study and work with.So what are we thinking about?
I’ll share with you in the next post. :)

Cheers!

Hello everyone, Breno Ronchini here,
Today I’m posting the report of our first meeting about our very first artwork together. The meeting happened this Friday, October 31th - at Halloween, yeah! - and it was very productive!

On this project, so far, beside myself and Renato Borges, Danilo Tavares download Fox and the Hound 2, The , another friend of ours, will be working with us. We hadn’t had the opportunity to work together until this project and, as we all predicted, things are going very good and we hope the’ll continue on this direction.

This project consists of an adaptation from text to a musical of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Masque of Red Death“, which, to those who are not familiar with it, talks about a plague that devastates a kingdom and it’s prince tries to… forget about it! To those who are not familiar with it: go and read it! Believe me: you’ll like it!

Well, back to the meeting!

We decided how it’ll begin and end; how the story will be told and decided about some of the characters. We’ll post more information and updates as soon as things are getting more precise, so, keep checking here for new stuff! Some hours ago, Renato called me, with a lot of excitement indeed, to tell me some ideas he had today. It happened to be something very close to what I was thinking, so, I liked it instantly. I’ve added some more ideas and he found them very interesting as well. We also talked about how we’ll conduct a ball and the different new effects into the music and into the whole environment. This idea reminds me very much of Burton’s movies… well, they’re good, then! Burton is a genious! So, that’s it for today!

Breno Ronchini for Holokinesis,

Cya!
